Rex is built to be your agency's "single point of truth": a universal reference point for all of the information and interactions you have with your clients.
Having one place for all of your client data allows you to build richer client relationships and protects you against data loss. Towards that end, we quietly released contact sync 4 weeks ago. Today’s contact sync has officially been released and takes the idea of a single point of truth a step further. All contacts stored in Rex can now be synced down to smartphones (including both iPhone and Android) and cloud or desktop software that supports the CardDAV protocol (see below). By allowing you to sync your contacts, Rex gives you the ability to quickly access contact information for your sellers and other important clients across your email and phone communication as well as identifying emails and phone numbers as being from important clients.
Configuring contact sync in Rex
Rex’s contact sync is based on the CardDAV protocol. CardDAV is an address book client / server protocol designed to allow users to access and share contact data on a server (in our case, your Rex account).Setting up involves two basic steps:
- Creating the filter you'll be using to define the contacts you’d like to sync
- Configuring syncing on your phone or email client by following these instructions.
Once configured, Rex will sync up to 1,000 contacts to your chosen device / email client. The contacts designated for sync are based on your preferences. Sync setup can be accessed via the personal preferences menu in the top right hand corner. Click on [Profile] and select [Contact Sync] from the left menu. For more information read this article or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Release of announcements feature
While we’re on the topic of contacts and communication, we’re also releasing a new “agency announcements” feature. From today, admin users with the “announcements” privilege are now able to post key information to user dashboards. We expect announcements will focus on:
- upcoming events
- deadlines and due dates for ad copy
- release of new resources etc.
Announcements are configured appear for a fixed duration and disappear after expiring or being dismissed. Users can also access an archive of historical announcements via the personal preferences menu. Franchisors with access to the franchise centre app are also able to post announcements to all offices in that franchise via the Group administration app - to do this, you'll need to have the Announcement privilege. Contact our support team from the help menu in Rex if you’d like more information or help with posting your first announcement.
