Rex was built from the real needs of hard-working estate agency professionals. Since 2011, our products and services have evolved alongside the agents, admins, principals and teams who use them every day. As we’ve grown across residential and commercial markets in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, our focus has stayed the same: understanding what drives real outcomes and building for it. Driving growth for residential & commercial agencies
We brought residential and commercial together into one full-service proptech suite. The result is a clearer, more cohesive experience and a sharper focus on growth and efficiency for our customers. This rebrand set the foundation for what comes next, with deeper product integrations, faster innovation, and stronger connections with the agencies we work with.
Tech leaders come together
Rex Software, Cirrus8 and RealTrust joined forces to create a single proptech group for residential and commercial estate agencies across the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Together, we combined scale, shared values and investment strength to innovate faster and support long-term growth.
Potentia Capital Invests
Potentia Capital invested in Rex to accelerate growth across the UK and rental markets. The partnership added capital, board-level expertise and long-term backing, giving Rex the scale to move faster, challenge incumbents, and continue building a single platform for modern real estate agencies.
A decade of service to estate agency
Rex has supported estate agencies by building technology around how agents actually work. Shaped by constant feedback and real-world use, the platform has evolved to remove friction, replace disconnected systems, and help agencies operate more efficiently at scale.
Expanding into the UK
Rex expanded into the UK to better support international customers and accelerate product innovation. Establishing a local presence allowed us to learn from a more competitive market, attract global talent, and bring new ideas back into the platform, strengthening Rex for agencies everywhere.
Opening the platform
Rex introduced an open API to give agencies control over their data and the freedom to integrate with other tools. A first for proptech in Australia and New Zealand, it shifted Rex away from closed systems and laid the groundwork for a flexible platform built to scale with each business.
Founded from inside estate agency
Rex was founded by Alex and Anton Babkov alongside their mother Lana, drawing on decades spent inside estate agency offices. Built and road-tested in a working agency, the first Rex was shaped by real workflows, real pressure, and a clear belief that better technology should make estate agency simpler, faster and more profitable.
