About the role
As a Senior Backend Engineer - Data Migration at Rex Software, you will be at the forefront of automating and improving our client data migration processes. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that make data migration seamless and efficient. Your contributions will significantly impact the user experience for our clients during critical transition periods.
Key Responsibilities
• Leading efforts to enhance our data migration tooling, from proposing architecture to executing solutions that make the migration process seamless and user-friendly.
• Mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and high-quality work.
• Writing clean, maintainable code that aligns with best practices and integrates well with our existing codebase.
• Navigating a dynamic, hybrid & remote team environment effectively.
• Scoping and prioritising tasks independently, especially in instances where a well-defined backlog may not exist.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful data migrations.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience writing PHP using a modern framework (e.g. Laravel, Symfony)
• Proven ability to develop efficient, modern APIs
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of translating technical issues for a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, connecting the dots between different aspects of a project.
• Strong analytical skills, able to break down problems into manageable, actionable tasks.
